Permaculture in the GLESS

As part of the convergence, local permaculturists James (Jas) Matalik of Bending Oak Educational Farm, Sarah Akovic of Lorain County Community College Sustainable Agriculture, and John Wright of Red Beet Row will be offering a 2 day Permaculture in the GLESS Intensive Program. Please consider joining them October 16 & 17, 2025, for this dynamic, hands-on experience designed to immerse you in the principles and practices of permaculture while equipping you with practical skills to create sustainable and resilient systems in our bioregion. This workshop is perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike, offering a blend of theory, design, practical exercises, and community connection to inspire regenerative living. The program will take place at Kelly’s Working Well Farm in Chagrin Falls. Camping will be available.

Land and Economy Summit

Another level of the convergence is a gathering of folks engaged in creating a regenerative local economy. We will create space and time for people and organizations to share their vision for the flourishing of life in the GLESS bioregion, what role each of us can play, and how we can collaborate to make that vision a reality.
